Caloundra located on the famous Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia. The Sunshine Coast stretches out on the southeast side of Queensland, and Caloundra is in its southernmost side. History
The name of Caloundra was taken from Kalowendah, a word taken from the dialect used by the Aborigine tribes who lived in the area long ago. The word can be translated into “Place of Beech Trees,” a description of the place itself.

Caloundra is a unique community in the Sunshine Coast. It is made up of several different components. First, there is an urban community that offers cosmopolitan tourist attractions and activities. Then there are a series of beaches that offer exciting water activities. Aside from that, there is a hinterland area nearby that offers natural attractions.
The urban area is where most of the Caloundra locals reside. Caloundra also has several other suburbs, such as Golden Beach as well as Pelican Waters, which are located in its southern side. On the west lies the Little Mountain. The Currimundi and Aroona areas are prominently residences, but there are a large array of parks in the area where families can lounge around in their spare time. In this part of Caloundra, you will also find Kawana Waters, the largest of the residential suburbs in the northern side of the community. Shoppers will love shopping at the bountiful Kawana Shopping world. Buddina can also be found in this area; it is a well-known place loved by surfers.

Bulcock Beach is also an excellent beach to visit, most especially at night when the restaurants along the boardwalk and pier liven up the night. The beach can be found opposite Bribie Island to the north. The area also features a walking track that leads all the way to Moffat Beach due northeast. Dicky Beach, on the other hand, is a great place for swimming, surfing, and fishing. The Currimundi Beach and Lake, also in the area, had also been named as the Cleanest Beach in Queensland in the year 1994. However, the main beach in Caloundra is still Kings Beach, which offers great picnic sites for couples and families to loll around by the sea. There are also more than 4000 guesthouses near the beach. Kings beach also boasts of some of the most exhilarating waves for surfers.
